There should be absolutely nothing half-hearted about this Italian icon.
The reason it's such a humdinger of a wine is because it's made by partially drying grapes for several months.
This process increases the sugar content in the grapes, resulting in a wine bursting with flavour and a touch of velvety sweetness.
But here's the catch: Amarone can set you back a few of your magic beans.
