This week, I bounced along to the Waitrose press tasting near London Bridge.
I sampled over 100 wines and observed more than 100 reactions.
Here are my top picks (along with a few to avoid):
WHITES
Norton, Torrontes, Argentina: £8.99 (new to their range)
I still believe that Torrontes is one of the best-value grape varieties out there. The Norton offers that signature floral element while maintaining its delicacy.
AOP, Limoux, Chardonnay, France: £12.99
If you are searching for an oaked Chardonnay at a reasonable price, then this is a strong option. It's notably creamy and soft, plus the best elements linger for a good chunk of time, always a sign of a well-made wine.
